Mission Statement
The International School of Aberdeen is committed to excellence in education.
We strive to provide a safe, caring learning environment where students are challenged to attain their maximum potential and become contributing members of the global community. ISA aims to provide students with a comprehensive university-preparatory education based on the best of International and North American curriculum models.
Education Philosophy
The Board, Staff and Parents of The International School of Aberdeen believe that:
- Each student is unique and valuable;
- A safe and stimulating learning environment and facility are necessary for fostering student growth;
- Education should be student centred and is a partnership among students, teachers, parents and the broader community;
- Students' intellectual, emotional, social, physical and ethical growth occurs at varying rates resulting in differing learning styles and needs;
- We must challenge and provide support for students to reach their personal potential;
- By providing a broad based curriculum which emphasises strong academics and creative expression, students will become critical thinkers and lifelong learners;
- Education is not limited to the classroom; excursions and travel offer valuable learning opportunities;
- Technology and computer literacy is an integral part of education;
- Physical education promotes team building, self-discipline and a healthy lifestyle;
- On leaving ISA, our students are thoroughly prepared to meet the challenges at their next school, whether that be university, secondary or primary level;
- An education which celebrates cultural diversity fosters respect among individuals;
- A well rounded education should provide meaningful opportunities for students to become active, positive members of the community.
