Pugs Looking to Be Fostered:
Becoming a foster parent to a pug is a wonderful life-changing event. Here are some of our most recent fostered pugs:
YODAYoda is a sweet 6 year old who will be on eye medications the rest of his life. He also has luxating patellas (a common knee problem), which do not require surgery at this time.

ABBYAbby is a 9 year old fawn girl. She is sweet, quiet, and pretty. She would be fine as an only pug or with other dogs. She is ok with cats. Abby is very sensitive to smoke, and cannot be around anyone who has been smoking or she begin to cough and wheeze.

TOBIHi, my name is TOBI, and I'm 11 years old. I have ‘dry eye’, which is very common in pugs. I’ve got some medicine for that and my breath is kissable fresh since my dental!I would love a quiet home, other dogs are ok as long as they are about my speed. I love people and hanging out with my people.

BETSYBetsy is 10 years old and came to us from a shelter in Ajo before Christmas. She is hearing impaired, but has some hearing of certain frequencies. She can see well enough that she doesn’t function as a blind dog, but needs a certain amount of light to get around. Once she learns her environment, she is independent (for a pug) and enjoys curling up behind a chair wherever her person might be. She barks when she wants food or to go out, but has learned how to use the doggie door and is fed on a regular schedule, so she’s not barking nearly as much as she did when she first came into foster care. She is quite a cuddly little girl and enjoys the company of other dogs and cats. She’s great with kids (very tolerant of her toddler foster person), but not overly energetic in any way. Betsy would enjoy a low-energy household where she won’t get trampled, but will be appreciated for her mellow, sweet, loving personality.

BOZZYBozzy wants nothing more than to hang out with you. He does love the four legged ladies and will try to hump them every chance he gets. If he is told no, he gladly complies. He gets along with large and small dogs and cats. His vision and hearing are limited, but he doesn’t have any trouble getting around. He is a large fellow, around 30 pounds. He likes to rest his chin on you when you are sitting down. Bozzy is a great companion, about 11 yrs old.

PUGGERSPuggers is a very sweet, shy boy. At 9 years old, his owner no longer had time for him, so he came to APARN in search of a new home. Puggers would love a home without children, where he can just enjoy a quiet retirement.

ALEXAlex loves companionship. He loves to sit close to his people and will cry if you ignore him. He gets along with everyone, big and small dogs and cats. His main love however will be you. Alex doesn’t hear well and the eyesight in his remaining eye is normal. He’s a funny little guy with a very large personality. He has a funny gait, but that doesn’t slow him down. He may have some spinal issues and will have little accidents if he is excited and has to go potty. Frequent trips out to do his business help alleviate this. He is however stool incontinent. That means that when he is full, it will just fall out, usually when he is sleeping. He is a very loving pug who just wants to be close to his people and absolutely loves to go with them for rides. Alex is about 8 yrs old.
