We may have more dogs than are shown on this page, and dogs are coming in regularly so please submit an application and get on our list! We adopt only in Arizona. Please understand that all of our dogs are spayed and neutered.

You must send in your adoption application and pass the home visit before we can discuss any questions you have about our available dogs. We are often not able to return phone messages or answer e-mails about specific available dogs on the website, unless you have been approved to adopt already.

We will try to respond to your application in a timely matter, but please remember that we are all volunteers, and often get backed up. We do not adopt dogs outside of the state of Arizona.

OLIVER

Oliver is a beautiful 6.5 year old male pug. He is a little shy at first, and gets along fine with other pets. Oliver came to APARN to find a home that has more time to devote to him.

RANGER

Ranger is a gorgeous 2.5 year old pug. He is a big boy at about 28 pounds, and just as sweet as can be! Ranger enjoys hanging out with other dogs, and of course, his people. Although he is dog door trained, he has been known to lift his leg in the house on occasion.

PUGZY

Pugzy is a beautiful 9 month puggle puppy, very healthy. He needs someone who can play with him more often than his current owner can, to use up some of that "puppy energy" he has going for him. Pugzy gets along fine with other dogs, but needs a home without cats.

TINKERBELL

Tinkerbell is about 8 years old. She is a small pug, about 10-12 pounds. She is a darling old girl, who was taken out of the county shelter last March, but her owner no longer had time or interest in her. Tinkerbell is pretty much deaf, probably as a result of chronic ear infections.

MAX

Max is a 5 year old pug who is looking for a new best friend. He is a friendly boy whose owners no longer had time for him. Max is well mannered, gets along well with the other dogs, and doesn't bother the cat

SHENG

Sheng is a 1 year old black male pug. He gets along well with other dogs, and is just a bit shy at first around people. Sheng came into rescue as a scared stand-offish dog due to the fact that he was never socialized in his first year of life. He has really come out of his shell, climbing up and down stairs (he was terrified of them) and now totally housebroken, as well as crate trained! He has a lot of energy since he is still a puppy, but can be lovable and really needs a lot of attention. Sheng would like a new home where he has room to play, people to play with and would not mind another dog brother or sister.

CHATO

Chato is a young black male, about 1 year old. He is small, and gets along fine with other dogs, and enjoys playing. Chato is a busy little guy. He is super inquisitive and does an adorable little happy tap dance when he gets excited. The vet estimates his age around one year old, and he is great health. Plus, he's a wee one, weighing just 10 pounds. He has already been neutered, which is helping tremendously with his potty training. He loves his big blankie and will roll around for hours in it. Chato is truly a little ball of fun and will make a great addition to any home!

DUDLEY

Dudley is a sweet little boy, about 10 yrs old. Dudley was previously adopted from APARN, and found himself back in rescue when his owner passed away. He has a special pillow that he sleeps on and if his foster mom hasn't seen him for a while, she always finds him curled up snoozing on his pillow. He also follows her from room to room and we think he may see at least a little. Even though a senior, Dudley can be a little playful still, and loves to be touched and petted. He certainly knows when it's time to eat and follows everyone into the kitchen. He's also learned about treats at bedtime! He doesn't hear much, though he does seem to hear loud noises. He's gotten the hang of the doggie door, and is ready to find his forever home.

HALEY

Haley is fairly independent, happy to nap the day away on her favorite bed. She doesn’t see or hear very well, but she doesn’t seem to have a problem getting around although sometimes she gets lost outside in the dark so you may need to help her find her way sometimes. She loves her fleece toys and will chew on them for hours. Her tongue is very long and permanently hangs out of her mouth and she does have a little trouble eating. She is a wonderful gal, about 13 yrs old, looking for a retirement home with a soft bed.

NEWMAN

Newman is a 6 year old male, a very loving boy, who loves attention. He sleeps on the people bed ONLY and snores like a drunken sailor! He holds himself really well and has very good house manners. He likes walking and being with people.

PEPPER

Pepper is a 9 month old pug/boston terrier mix. He is an active young boy with lots of puppy energy. Pepper enjoys playing with other dogs. He needs to go to a home with another active young dog to play with, where he can release his puppy energy in good ways.

PETUNIA

Petunia is a lovely 10 year old pug, who likes to hang out on the back of the sofa when you watch TV. She is an alpha female who doesn’t put up with any crap from the boys. She has severe dry eye and will be on medication the rest of her life. She is almost blind because this condition was untreated for a long time, but it doesn’t seem to slow her down. She can still find her way around and has no trouble jumping up on the couch to get in her spot. She is a wonderful gal that likes her food a little too much and will campaign enthusiastically for more even right after she’s eaten. She loves to chew on bully sticks and sleep on her favorite cushion.

TIMOTHY

Timothy is a beautiful 3 year old male. He is currently on medication for tick fever and valley fever, and is still pending his neuter surgery. Once he is cleared for surgery, he will get neutered and be ready to find a new home!

BRUTIS

Brutis is a 6 yr old fawn male. He is a wonderful boy, active, and very sweet. Brutis gets along fine with other pugs. He likes to be held like a baby and cuddled, and will actually fall asleep in your arms! Brutis is an all around great companion!

Smudge is a 6 year old fawn boy who is currently dealing with food allergies. He gets along well with other dogs, and likes the company of people. Smudge is a sweet boy, who is looking for a best friend to lavish attention on!
