What are your rates?

My rates are very reasonable and they vary from project to project depending on what your needs are. No project is too big or too small. Please e-mail me if you would like an estimate for your upcoming project.

Do you have any free web templates?

Currently i do not have any web templates for you to download. However, I will be adding those to my site in the very near future. All templates will be free, unless other wise noted, with proper credit given back to me.

What kind of sites do you enjoy creating?

I enjoy making all kinds of web sites. I would be lying if I didnt say I prefer to do one kind of style over another. Currently I am enjoying making colorful sites with lots of graphical elements. I enjoy making any client web sites that let me create colorful, intense banners in Photoshop. I am somewhat bored with web sites all looking the same, so I really have fun creating web sites that let me go outside the box.

What do you think web design is?

I think web design is creating, developing and maintaining a web site. It's pretty much as simple as that. If you want me to go into detail, I think good web design is based on user centered design with a high emphasis on web standards and aesthetics.

Do you have any good resources?

Yes, I have many. One web site that should always be bookmarked is W3Schools. That site is very valuable and full of useful bits of code.

I also frequent Planet Photoshop. this web site is full of great tutorials to either help you with a Photoshop project, or give you inspiration to create your own. When i first started playing with Photoshop, I went to that site and tried to follow along several tutorials a day, until I felt comfortable creating things in Photoshop myself.

If you would like to know of any more helpful web sites just e-mail me and I will send you a list. But if you are trying to find some great resources A.S.A.P, all you need to do is a Google search.

What are your interests?

I have many, many interests and hobbies. First and foremost, I love love love animals. Currently my husband and i have 8 pets, all rescues except for 1. It's hard for me to not take care of a stray anything. I find it sad that people view animals as disposable beings. I have the space for the animals, why not let them enjoy their lives? I have cats and dogs ranging from 13 years old to 12 months. Their names are: Lola, Talula, Pugsley, Master Control Program (aka momma kitty), Taquito, Choco Chops, Birdy, and Moose. And they are all amazing.

I love to knit. Knitting keeps me sane. I'm not proclaiming to be an amazing knitter, although I strive to be one day. But I thoroughly enjoy it. I started knitting a couple of years ago as a hobby, something productive to do while watching T.V. I thought it would just be a phase but I got hooked immediately. Now I knit whenever and where ever I get the chance to.

My new favorite past time is embroidery. I started to teach myself to embroider very early this year and I was amazed to find out how easy it was to pick up. I find embroidering to be very liberating, artistic, creative and fun.

I also enjoy playing in Photoshop. Or really rather just designing or creating things digitally.

And of course, I love playing video games. But only cute games like Katamari Damacy, which is one of my favorite series of video games.

Are you good with Photoshop?

Yes, I do think I am good with Photoshop, although I think I can still get better. It irks me when people just think Photoshop is for fixing “red eyes” from photographs. There is so much to be done with this program. I have been working with it for several years now and I am always finding new and improved ways of doing things. My ideal job would be playing in Photoshop all day, which I kind of do now, but I have to do other things as well!

What is your design philosophy?

My design philisophy is to create and develop a web site as visually captivating and user - centered as possible that also meets and exceeds the needs and wants of my clients.

I really focus on what the client needs first and foremost.

Where did you go to school?

When I decided what I wanted to go to school for, I initially ended up at AiH. After one year there, my husband and I decided to get out of Houston and move to Portland, Oregon. so then I transferred to AiP. I majored in Interactive Media Design.

Do you have any Photoshop tutorials?

Yes, I do have several Photoshop tutorials that I have created. They are located on the Photoshop page page. Have fun and enjoy.

Do you do any volunteer web or graphic design?

Yes, I love to volunteer my time to do web sites for non profit organizations. My most recent volunteer website is Chez Paws Foundation. This organization gives monetary assistance to animal rescue groups.

Another site that I donated is K'anchy Wasi, a battered woman's shelter in Peru. I absolutely loved designing this site. I had a few meetings at a local coffee shop with the client to discuss her main areas of interest. Through the meetings and the e-mails we sent eachother, I really got a sense of just what the organization was trying to do for women in Peru - and I became very interested! It is such a good cause.

Currently I have not done any volunteer graphic design work, but I am not opposed to it. If you think you or your organization can benefit from my services, feel free to e-mail me and maybe we can work something out!

Are you involved with any associations?

Yes, currently I am a proud member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). This organization is great for not only networking, but honing your Photoshop skills. Once you become a member, you have unlimited access to so many other members and their experiences, as well as tutorials and help for everything Photoshop!
